Link between gut health and Alzheimer’s confirmed, and what you can do about it.

The link has finally confirmed although many of us already knew this to be true. It makes sense, the research has been there for decades. The gut is the second brain. Chronic and systemic inflammation mixed with an abundance of bad bacteria will eventually lead to neuron egenerative disorders like Alzheimer’s and even Parkinson’s disease.

A recent article from Dr. mercola states,

Proteins Produced by Gut Bacteria May Trigger Alzheimer’s

The study involved a cohort of 89 people between 65 and 85 years of age. Some of them suffered from Alzheimer’s disease or other neurodegenerative diseases while others were healthy with no memory problems.

The researchers used PET imaging to measure amyloid deposition in their brains, then measured markers of inflammation and proteins produced by intestinal bacteria, such as lipopolysaccharides and short-chain fatty acids, in their blood.

Lipopolysaccharides (LPSs) are dead bacteria or, more specifically, the cell walls of dead bacteria. Your immune system treats them as living bacteria and mounts immune defenses against the perceived invaders. LPSs are proinflammatory and have been found in amyloid plaques in the brains of Alzheimer’s patients.

The study revealed that high blood levels of LPSs and the short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs) acetate and valerate were associated with large amyloid deposits in the brain. Other SCFAs, namely butyrate, appeared to have a protective effect; high levels of butyrate were associated with less amyloid.

Butyrate — an SCFA produced when gut bacteria ferment fiber — activates the secretion of brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF), reduced levels of which have been linked to Alzheimer’s disease.

“Our results are indisputable: Certain bacterial products of the intestinal microbiota are correlated with the quantity of amyloid plaques in the brain,” explains Moira Marizzoni. “Furthermore,” said neurologist Giovanni Frisoni, study author and director of the University Hospitals of Geneva (HUG) Memory Center in Switzerland, “we have also discovered an association between an inflammatory phenomenon detected in the blood, certain intestinal bacteria and Alzheimer’s disease; hence the hypothesis that we wanted to test here: Could inflammation in the blood be a mediator between the microbiota and the brain?”

The researchers suggested the beneficial metabolic changes may be responsible for the cognitive improvements.

But along with a certain probiotics that release butyrate there’s several things that you can do to stop this cascading effect.

What can I do to start reversing the damage?

1. Do a parasite cleanse to remove all of the unfriendly bacteria and parasites from your intestines

2. Immediately stop eating foods that cause chronic information such as fast food, things out of a box, non-organic foods, most meats, dairy and things with ingredients that you cannot pronounce. all of these foods have GMO‘s, food additives, oils, and other dirty secrets like “natural flavors“ that cause systemic and chronic long-term inflammation. That inflammation manifests as high blood pressure, heart disease, diabetes, migraines, and gut disorders like IBS, Crohn’s and are related to developing Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease.

3. Switch to a whole foods, organic plant-based diet rich in prebiotics like lentils, vegetables, low glycemic fruits, grains like quinoa and buckwheat, and eliminate all PUFA oils from your diet. If you’re not sure where to start you can pick up a copy of my book that gives you everything you need including a detox plan, a shopping list, and a list, a meal plan. Or if you want more one on one help, go to this page.

4. Start taking a probiotic rich with butyrate releasers immediately. As you read from the article, this is a key differentiation point in a lot of probiotics. And they are not all created equal. I started taking this one developed by a world renowned cardiologist who has studied the gut-brain axis in depth and has came out with the only probiotic on the market that actually formulated with butyrate and the special it’s made protects it from being destroyed once taken orally.

This science is clear. What ARE or BECOME what you eat. Our food supply is contaminated, we have become a popul of sick and diseased people, with a multitude of neurodegenerative disorders. and all of this can be reversed and prevented by following the steps laid out above, because the food you eat can either slowly destroy you or it can give you the health that you were meant to have. Take back control of your life and your health, and take it out of the hands of Big food and Big medicine.

Yours in health,

Mikki
